California Retro, circa 1963 is a beautifully remodeled, midcentury vacation home on half an acre in South Palm Desert. This 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 3,200 square foot home captures the essence of desert modernism - with its iconic roofline, clerestory windows, open concept floorplan, walls of glass and designer furnishings. The resort style yard has a private pool and spa, custom firepit, outdoor kitchen, living and dining areas and mountain views. When you venture out, you're a mile from world class shopping and dining on El Paseo - it's the perfect desert getaway!
Walled and gated for privacy, the half acre yard features two different spaces to enjoy. The back yard has a gorgeous custom pool surrounded by luxury lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as a built in firepit. The covered outdoor living area has a sectional, overhead fans, and an outdoor dining table with seating for 8. The built-in BBQ island has bar stools for 3. The backyard retreat continues on the side yard, with more lounge and conservation areas, and a second outdoor dining table for 8. Swaying palms, olive trees, old growth cactus and breathtaking mountains add to the magic of this very special property.
The fabulous interior has a spacious open concept floor plan, soaring ceilings, fantastic light fixtures and walls of glass that look out to the poolside paradise. The living area has plenty of seating, TV, and a showpiece fireplace. The dining area has seating for 8 and a wet bar with wine fridge. The kitchen has modern appliances, and has also retained some of the originals for retro flair. The main house flows into a secondary suite with a full living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
All of the bedrooms are beautifully styled. Bedroom 1 is located in a separate wing of the home, and has a Queen bed, TV, and en suite bath with shower/tub combo. Bedroom 2 has a King bed, flatscreen TV, private doors to the pool, and easy access to the hallway bathroom with shower. Bedroom 3 has a King bed, TV, doors to the pool, and hall bathroom with shower. Bedroom 4 is in the Guest House. It has a private bedroom with a Queen bed, TV, doors to the pool yard and en suite bathroom with shower.

Tucked away in the heart of South Palm Desert, this swanky home is just minutes to El Paseo. Theaters, spas, hiking trails, golf courses and tennis are also close by. Our other desert cities are just a short drive. Palm Springs is few miles West. Or take Highway 111 East to Indian Wells home of the BNP Paribas Open, or the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio.

The house served our needs perfectly other than the poor walkability on our end of Fairway Dr. The pool and patio were both fantastic. The pool was a perfect temperature and maintained its heat well. All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed. We had a couple of issues that Jessica in the DLE office handled professionally and expediently. That responsiveness would lead us to use this company in the future and recommend to friends. Great proximity to so many things we love about the desert. Restaurants, hiking, shopping and golf, among a few.

Enjoyed our stay!
Beautiful home! Stunning backyard with warm pool and great hot tub! Sunshine for most of the day! Interior is fabulous! Everything you need in the kitchen and a great mid century modern vibe! While the house is on a rather busy street with some noise, it does not seem to impact the peacefulness in the backyard.
