Indian Wells is the smallest and most tightly held corner of the valley — tennis in March, golf the rest of the year, and very few houses that come up to rent.
The Indian Wells Tennis Garden puts the city on the map every March, when the BNP Paribas Open draws the largest crowd of any tournament outside the grand slams. Houses within walking distance of the grounds are the hardest thing to book in the valley, and they go a year ahead.
The rest of the year it is quiet in a way the other cities are not. Strict rules on short-term rentals keep the number of available houses small — we manage a handful — and the ones that exist tend to be large. Our collection here runs from four bedrooms up to a 26,000 square foot estate in the Indian Wells Country Club.
Everything is close. The Tennis Garden, three championship courses, and the resorts along Highway 111 are all within a few minutes, and Palm Desert's El Paseo is the next town over.
